Active synchronization control of the gyroscopic vibration absorber is experimentally investigated to provide efficient transition between steady-state synchronization conditions. One open loop and two feedback loop synchronization control systems were designed, developed, and experimentally tested for their ability to quickly and smoothly maintain a nulled condition for an experimental structure-GVA system during transient synchronization. Maximum structural amplitude and resynchronization time were descriptive parameters of structure-GVA behavior used to compare the effectiveness of the three active synchronization control systems.
